World Skills Festival Customised iPad Lecterns – Case Study
When Guildford College found itself invited to be a part of the World Skills Festival it was both a huge honour and a terrifying request. Paul Clarke from Guildford College came to Wise with a request to help him fill fifty square metres with digital art tools on iPad that had not been used in such a way before. The iPad art stations were going to be used for a minimum of six hour days with no let up, and it was likely that thousands of young people would be using them… It seemed a huge task but at Wise we pride ourselves on a fast, efficient and friendly service so we rose to the occasion with our customised iPad Lectern display stands.
Here is what Paul Clarke from Guildford College had to say…
“When I stumbled on Wise and their iPad lecterns shortly to be released, I knew instantly that was what I wanted the entire stand to be based around. It was a huge ask, because in a relatively short space of time we needed not just a number of lecterns, we also required complete customisation to our specification. This allowed as many people as possible to work with the iPad art stations through each day. The iPad lecterns solution also needed to be in a range of heights to allow as many users to access them as possible. We needed badges and artwork and a dozen other things I’d never dreamed of commissioning let alone ordering and, not that any of us knew this just yet, during the four days of the World Skill’s Festival 10,000 people would use the iPad lecterns and many more thousands of people would walk past and admire the stand Wise had built for us.
If Daytona Visual Marketing hadn’t delivered on everything they said they could make, the World Skills Festival would have been significantly less successful for us.
