Point of Sale POS For Retail
Free Standing Display Units (FSDU’s) are an effective retail display solution that help drive sales and realise more profits.
Daytona Visual are leading UK POS specialists in the field of custom FSDU’s (Free Standing Display Units).
We have nearly 40 years of knowledge and technology investment in FSDU prototyping and production. From design conception, full size mock-ups and fast prototypes to the full retail store “roll out”, Daytona Visual can take care of all your free standing display unit requirements.
Importantly, all stages of FSDU production are kept in-house. This maintains total control over your project and minimises costs.
We work with a wide range of materials in acrylic, card, fluted display-board, Correx, Foamex, Foam PVC and metal. A free standing display unit recently produced for Lux Soap, even had flashing LEDs to make it Sparkle!
Our specialized storage and distribution warehouse can even take care of individual store deliveries, holding back-up stock and order fulfillment.

With years of expertise combined with the latest prototyping technology, and high definition UV cured large format print machines through to automated digital cutting tables, our fantastic team will guide you through the whole process.
Fast prototyping.
With our experienced and skilled team coupled with our KaseMake prototyping table, we can create cardboard FSDU prototypes quickly and economically.
Digital automated finishing tables.
As well as clam shell platens we have invested in the latest digital automated cutting table technology. This allows fast, economical turnaround of fluted cardboard FSDU’s without the need for producing costly tooling.
Fulfilment.
At Daytona Visual, our dedicated collation and packing department are on hand to ensure your FSDU gets delivered safely and on schedule. We can assist from single bulk warehouse deliveries through to full multi store roll-out, using our own vans or delivery partners.
CARDBOARD FSDU's
Cardboard FSDU’s are an economical display unit solution.
Commonly produced from fluted or corrugated board, different grades of fluted board can be utilised with the most common for this kind of unit being EB Flute.
There is no reason to feel confused or overwhelmed about the different materials and options available to you. Our team are here to advise and assist in helping to ensure you have the correct specification for your FSDU.
FOAMEX FSDU's
Foamex FSDU’s are a great alternative to card FSDU’s where a more robust unit is required.
They are generally more costly to produce than a card unit and are therfore normally used for displaying higher value products over a longer period of time. Foamex is a brand name of a material called foamed PVC, a mixture of Polyvinyl chloride and polyurea. It is the ideal material for all kinds of POS due to its excellent inherent properties. These include:
- good bond strength
- lightweight yet strong
- highly resistant to moisture
- resistant to most chemicals
- easy to cut
- easy to form and heat bend
- different colours available
- prints very well

MDF FSDU's
MDF FSDU’s are generally extremely robust with good longevity.
However, there are limitations which need to be considered. These include higher production costs, heavy weight, and transportation costs.
Foamex FSDU’s are a great alternative to card FSDU’s where a more robust unit is required. These units are more costly to produce than card or foamed PVC unit as they require more finishing.
